Along with starving children, inequality, and all of the other world problems, Environmental issues have always been a danger. With the rate the globe is deteriorating, it should be number one on most people’s list. The down side to it, is it cost money to save the environment. Most people cannot, or will not afford to do so. Even if people give money to organizations helping the environment, it is hard to figure out what percentage of the money goes to the organization. A lot of people would rather give their money to feeding the hungry. One does not look at a cut down tree, and feel the same way they do when they look at a child dying from starvation.
After a certain amount of trees are cut down, a certain amount need to be replaced. Unfortunately that is not enough. There are a lot of programs out there preserving the environment, but it is not enough. Even though corporations know they are harming the world with all their pollutions, they will not stop. They are a business with the sole purpose of making money. It is a dangerous cycle we humans are living, and I agree that if it does not stop, we will have even more problems.
American people do care more about starving children then there own environment, but I’m not saying thats a bad thing, i’m saying we should start balancing our caring from not just other people around us but also the things around us. Organizations are chopping our natural resources away and when it comes down to it it’ll affected us so we should really start to do something about it. This world revolves around money and it wouldn’t stop no matter how hard we try, only way it can stop is if we stop buying and that will never happen. People including myself get greedy and want want want not knowing the harm it is causing. Good post though and you made good statements.
